Hydrating Fruit Popsicles

Hydrating Fruit Popsicles

“Mommy, these are so yummy, will you please make them every day?!” My daughter had a few friends over last week and the night before she made sure we made up a batch to have ready for her friends. My girls absolutely love this treat, yet it is so healthy I will let them eat them as a pre-dinner desert when they are hungry before dinner is ready or it is hot while we grill outside.

These popsicles are so hydrating that they give kids just what they need after they’ve played hard getting hot and sweaty. Hand these over after a hot soccer or baseball practice. There are a million possible variations, but these are my two favorites.

Strawberry-Lime Hydrating Fruit Popsicle

Strawberry-Lime Popsicles

  • 10 oz. water
  • 5 scoops Lemon-Lime Performance Powder (a sports drink concentrate without anything artificial or yucky)
  • 5 strawberries, quartered
  • Juice from half a lime or a nice-sized squirt from a lime juice bottle (I also scraped a little pulp from the lime, but I really love lime)
  1. Combine ingredients and give a quick blend. The less you blend the chunkier the fruit in the popsicles will be. It is all about your preference.
  2. Pour into your popsicle forms.
  3. Freeze, then enjoy!

Orange-Orange Hydrating Fruit Popsicle

Orange-Orange Popsicles

  • 10 oz. water
  • 5 scoops of Orange Performance Powder (a sports drink concentrate without anything artificial or yucky)
  • 1 small orange or 1/2 large orange, quartered
  1. Combine ingredients and give a quick blend. The less you blend the chunkier the fruit in the popsicles will be. It is all about your preference.
  2. Pour into your popsicle forms.
  3. Freeze then enjoy!

My kids LOVE these popsicles

The performance powder is part of Shaklee’s sports line of products. I’m a Shaklee distributor and you can buy it right from my Shaklee shop and have it shipped straight to your house.

Do you ever make homemade popsicles? Are the summer’s HOT where you are at like ours in Arkansas?

  1. Performance powder for children ???? Really? Sorry but I don’t think it’s a good idea. Doing the same with natural fruit juice would be better! By the way I love your blog ;-)

    1. It is organic and totally safe for kids. Safer than other sports drinks that parents give their kids after soccer games! No weird chemicals and helps them be hydrated! Totally healthy and they love it!

    2. My kids drink it all the time! So much better for them than other sports drinks…. way less sugar and minus all the artificial flavors and junk and it hydrates even better. We do fruit juice sometimes but you can’t beat this on a sweltering hot day! I give it to them when they are sick and it helps perk them up a lot better than Gatorade or Pedialyte!

  2. Performance is very good for children. My kids love it! It’s a great re-hydration drink. I use it when they’re sick or it’s hot out or after sports. It doesn’t have any of the fake stuff like Gatorade has in it. Fruit juice would be another option but performance is very safe for kids.

    1. My kids would like it with juice too, but we don’t keep a ton of juice around. (We love water and if juice is in the house that is all the kids want to drink.) That is a great idea to use it when they’re sick. I need to remember that! :)

  3. Love performance for kiddos. Never tried it frozen… but I will now. Fruit juice is so high in sugar and we seldom drink it….and the other sports drinks full of chemicals. Performance is definately the way to go. Thanks for the great tip Mary !!!

  4. I absolutely LOVE and TRUST Performance for my kids. I will NEVER give them gatorade or any other drinks that people recommend. I know what is in Shaklee ingredients and my kids love them!!

What a great post Mary! :)

  5. I made Performance Popsicles for my kids and they love them!! I prefer Performance over juice because juice has so so so much sugar. Super safe for kids, there isn’t anything in the ingredients list that can hurt them. Only good stuff! :) Awesome post Mary, thanks for sharing!
