Fall In Love With Your Home Again In 2016

in 2016 - fall in love with your home again

I’m ringing in the New Year watching Sound of Music and eating Snickerdoodles with my family – pretty much the perfect New Year’s Eve celebration for me this year. I am so ready for 2016! This is going to be a great year for Mary ORGANIZES and you too while you follow along.

My goal for this blog and my organizing business is to help as many people as possible fall in love with their home again. I’ve got challenges and series arranged in just the right order to guide you.

Part 1 of the year will be the Declutter Challenge. Just like decluttering is the first step of organizing, decluttering is going to be our first focus this year. After that we’ll do Spring Cleaning, a Big Garage Clean Out, Summer Organizing, work on our Home Management Routines for maintenance, and then add some beauty in the fall to Love Home Again.

Follow along here and I will do my best to teach and support you. I truly believe I have the best readers in the universe. There is a true feeling of community in our Facebook group that is rare on the Internet these days. I feel lucky every day to have my dream job. Thank you, thank you!

Happy New Year! I wish you all the best in 2016.

  1. I’ve tried to order using my discover debit card. It is the only card I have and it keeps turning the card down. It says I need to use another card. I hate having a discover card because a lot of companies will not accept it, but it is the only card our bank offers. Is the problem because it is a discover card? I have entered the info 3 times and I get the same thing every time. I don’t have a paypal account n have no desire to start one.

  2. I am so ready for 2016, I’m looking forward to following your organizing and routines for a fresh start in my new house!

    1. I just re-read my description. It says December 2015 through December 2016, which is correct. The planner started last month and will go to the end of this year. :)

  3. I’ve tried to subscribe to your blog so I don’t miss a declutter entry but, II can’t seem to find out how. I’m not great with computers.

  4. Hi Mary – I love the flow you have set up for all the upcoming “plans”. I’m really looking forward to participating this year. I do have one question though; When are you planning for the “Big Garage Clean Out” to happen? What month? I live in the town just south of you and don’t like the heat, so just wanting to get the garage on my list for spring and was wondering when you have it planned for. – Thanks, Dawn

    1. I have it nestled in between spring cleaning and summer organizing, so May. I don’t love deep cleaning my garage in the summer! (Though doing a little maintenance doesn’t kill me.) :)

  5. I am doing well with the challenge. Glad you started in a small area, it is getting me amped up for my larger areas. Wonderful planning. I, too, can’t wait for the garage challenge. Hubby will definitely get involved then.

  6. This was a pivotal change for me. I have a large home, work full time and just threw “stuff” I didn’t know what I wanted to do with, in closets and the WORST idea, nifty storage containers. I filled THREE large 95 gallon trash bins with the contents of the “nifty storage containers” on ONE trash pick up day and there were many more. The problem was, I wasn’t getting rid of “stuff” I was relocating it. Room by room, I threw out more “stuff” than you could ever imagine. My house is much better organized and if there isn’t a logical space or place for things, I don’t keep them. My husband keeps going from room to room saying “I don’t know who this Mary is but I really like her lol”
I also found things I thought I had lost or forgot I had. All I can say is thank you thank you thank you!
